The McDowell Public Library Friends support the library in many different ways.
Book Sales - Year round the Friends sell paper backs and used hardcover books with all proceeds going to the Friends of the Library. Proceeds may be used to purchase materials for the children's department or materials needed to support the library.
Memorial Books - The McDowell Public Library has a memorial book program. Patrons may make donations to the library in memory or in honor of someone and a book will be placed in the library. The book contains a plate giving the name of the honoree and the donor. An acknowledgment will be sent to both the donor and to the honoree or honoree's family. All memorial book requests should have the name of the honoree, the name of the donor, the mailing address of the donor, and the mailing address of the person(s) to whom the acknowledgment should be sent.
